Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully. These terms define and stipulate the rights and obligations pertaining to Anima House (referred to as “the Company”) and its Clients, as defined in section 1.1. The Company may amend these Terms, in which case Clients will be notified either directly in writing or indirectly via a posting on the Company’s website.
1. Introduction and definitions
1.1 Definitions
- Company refers to C.V. Anima House. KvK: 98042556. VAT: NL864307652B01.
- Client refers to any persons that have accepted these terms and conditions through either registering for a subscription with the Company, or by registering through a third-party platform (for example ClassPass or Onefit).
- Staff refers to any persons employed by the Company, including freelance instructors, supporting staff, and leadership.
- Studio refers to the Company’s physical location: Kerkstraat 393-H, 1017HX, Amsterdam.
- Terms refers to this Terms & Conditions document.
- Website refers to www.anima-house.com.
- Registration Form refers to the form Clients must complete when registering or booking via the Company Website.
1.2 These Terms are incorporated into the Registration Form and online booking system.
1.3 The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms when necessary or appropriate. Updates will be published on the Website and are binding until replaced.
1.4 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Dutch courts.
2. Memberships
- 2.1 Upon completing a Registration Form, a person becomes a Client and may use Studio facilities (unless otherwise restricted under these Terms).
- 2.2 The Company reserves the right to accept or reject any membership application.
- 2.3 The Company may suspend or terminate membership for conduct deemed harmful or for breach of Terms. No refunds will be issued for any unused membership period.
- 2.4 Introductory offers are only available to new Clients and cannot be accessed by existing members.
3. Opening hours
3.1 Studio opening hours are generally:
- Mondays to Fridays: 06:45-13:00 and 06:45-21:00
- Saturdays: 08:45-13:30
- Sundays: 09:15-13:30
These hours are subject to change during the summer season or under special circumstances.
4. Payment & pricing
- 4.1 Pricing is listed on the Website and may change periodically.
- 4.2 Payment grants access to Studio services only, not guaranteed entry (see Section 5).
- 4.3 Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
- 4.4 Workshops, retreats, and events are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances, class credit may be offered.
5. Membership auto-renewal
- 5.1 Applies to all monthly memberships.
- 5.2 Clients will be notified at least 30 days before any price changes.
- 5.3 Clients with a membership can cancel after three (3) months by written notice to hello@anima-house.com. Cancellation must follow the standard procedure outlined in 5.5 and 5.8 where applicable.
- 5.4 The Company may charge administrative fees if payment fails.
- 5.5 Cancellation notice must be sent within 5 days before the next renewal period. If received within this timeframe, the membership will end in the current cycle or next cycle depending on timing of notice.
- 5.6 Payment will be attempted on renewal day and retried twice within 48 hours. Failure results in membership freeze.
- 5.7 Any monthly membership can be frozen at any time. To do so, the Client must send an email request to the Studio at hello@anima-house.com denoting the exact dates and reason for the membership pause.
- 5.8 Discounted or promotional memberships require completion of 3 billing cycles before cancellation eligibility.
6. Class cards
- 6.1 Applies to Clients purchasing Class Passes.
- 6.2 Class Passes are valid from the moment of purchase until the expiration date shown on each specific class pack. Unused credits expire automatically and cannot be extended.
7. Personal belongings
- 7.1 Clients store belongings at their own risk. The Company is not liable for loss or damage.
8. Reservations & cancellations
- 8.1 Cancellations made 6+ hours before class start incur no penalty.
- 8.2 Cancellations within 6 hours of class start result in:
- No credit refund for all clients
- Unlimited members: €10 fine per late cancellation
- ClassPass, Work It, and Urban Sports members: subject to their own platform penalties and terms
- 8.3 Classes may be booked up to 14 days in advance for members.
- 8.4 Waitlists operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
9. Studio facilities
- 9.1 Clients are entitled to use the Studio’s training and changing facilities during scheduled class times, including 15 minutes before class and 15 minutes after class for training areas, and up to 30 minutes for changing and shower facilities.
- 9.2 The Company reserves the right to temporarily or permanently withdraw all or part of its facilities for maintenance, safety, or operational reasons, with or without prior notice where reasonably necessary.
- 9.3 Children under the age of 16 may only access the Studio and attend classes if accompanied by and supervised by an adult. The Company reserves the right to refuse access where safety concerns apply.
- 9.4 The Café area (approx. 30m² at the Studio entrance) is accessible during all opening hours and may be used by both Clients and non-Clients unless otherwise stated.
- 9.5 Clients with an active membership are eligible for discounted pricing at the Café. Standard pricing applies to all non-members.
10. Health, safety, injury & sanitation
- 10.1 Clients are strongly encouraged to consult a medical professional before engaging in physical activity if they have any concerns regarding their health or fitness.
- 10.2 The Company reserves the right to refuse access to any Client where participation may pose a health or safety risk.
- 10.3 The Company, its Studio, and Staff are not liable for injuries, health conditions, or medical complications arising from participation in classes or use of facilities.
- 10.4 Clients must follow all instructions and directions given by Staff at all times.
- 10.5 Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on or near the Studio premises.
- 10.6 In the event of an emergency such as a fire, Clients must calmly follow emergency signage and exit via the nearest safe exit.
- 10.7 Clients are required to clean and sanitise all equipment and surfaces used during their session using provided cleaning materials.
11. Clothing
- 11.1 Shoes must be removed upon entering the Studio and stored in the designated area. This does not apply to individuals using only the Café.
- 11.2 Clients may wear any appropriate clothing provided it sufficiently covers the groin and gluteal areas at all times.
12. General
- 12.1 Clients must at all times follow these Terms and comply with reasonable instructions from Staff.
- 12.2 Clients must keep personal details up to date. All communications sent to the registered email address are considered received. The Company is not liable for issues arising from email communication. By providing an email address, Clients consent to receiving communication from the Company, including operational updates and notices.
- 12.3 The Company reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at its sole discretion.
- 12.4 Where applicable, the Company may communicate via postal mail using the most recent address provided by the Client. Clients accept potential delays associated with postal communication.
13. Liability
- 13.1 The Company is not responsible for the unavailability of services, equipment, or facilities for any reason.
- 13.2 The Company may modify facilities, services, or offerings at any time without notice and shall not be liable for any resulting loss or inconvenience.
- 13.3 Clients are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit to participate in classes. Participation is at their own risk. The Company accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property.
14. Website
- 14.1 The Company does not guarantee that information on the Website is complete, accurate, or up to date.
- 14.2 The Company may modify Website content at any time without notice and accepts no liability for reliance on such information. The Company does not guarantee that the Website is free from viruses or harmful components. Users are responsible for their own digital security.
15. Privacy & security
- 15.1 Personal data is stored securely and only accessible to authorised personnel, contractors, or agents bound by confidentiality obligations.
- 15.2 Clients may receive email communication including feedback requests and operational updates. Opt-out options are provided in all marketing communications.
